‘Good Morning’ ‘Good Night’ Texts to Your Ex Can Hurt Your Chances

In general, there is only so much that happens in a week that two people who are not in a relationship can share. The need to talk your ex about things that you don’t need to talk to them about is what neediness and/or codependency is about.

In other words, you should not be sharing with your ex everything happening in your day-to-day life. They are your ex, not your girl/boyfriend (yet).

“Good morning” , “How is your day?”, “Goodnight”  and “What are you doing this weekend?” texts early on in the process is too much too soon, and in some instances seem like pressure to be a couple. If your ex sends them, then by all means follow their lead, but until then, remember you are not a couple and doing “couple things” when you are not a couple complicates things, and may affect your chances.
